  Plain City Arts Council Mission
The Plain City Arts Council was formed to promote the arts in our town. If you have ideas about anything that could be happening to enrich Plain City cultural life, whether it's remembering our rich Pioneer heritage, enjoying today's cultural arts events, or planning for a brighter cultural environment for tomorrow, we'd like to hear from you. We meet at the Plain City Senior Center each 3rd Saturday from 9:00 a.m. Come join us.

  PC Pops

On August 6, 2012, the Plain City Arts Council sponsored our first ever Plain City Pops Concert at the Town Square. We had a great turnout, over 400 people, and we'd like to thank everyone who came out and supported our efforts. It was a wonderful evening of music and socializing that we hope to make an annual event. We'd especially like to express our appreciation to Alan Yorgason and his committee and his talented orchestra of more than 30 musicians who made the concert possible. We hope to see everyone next year! And in case you weren't able to be there, here's what you missed:

Selections from Phantom of the Opera

Selections from the Lord of the Rings

Can Can (from the operetta "Orpheus in ?the Underworld”) guest-conducted by ?Lynn Cottle

Waltz from Sleeping Beauty

"Gimme, Gimme" from Thoroughly ?Modern Millie, sung by Janeal Wiser, and ?accompanied by the orchestra

Themes from James Bond 007

Selections from Pirates of the Caribbean

  Harvest Arts Festival

September 15 th marked the 4 th annual Plain City Harvest Arts Festival and this year was even bigger and better than ever. Those who attended were delighted by the beautiful autumn day and the Town Square filled with vendors, an antique tractor display, a Farmers' Market, and our Kids' Art Tent.

New this year were several free activities. There was a train ride and a clown who made balloon animals for the kids. We also had free ice cream at the Sub-Zero booth and a free drawing for a Kindle Fire. Congratulations to Cody McBride who was our lucky winner!

At the performance stage, we were treated to great entertainment provided by local singers and musicians. In addition, we enjoyed a one-act play directed by our own Shanna Goldsberry. A special thanks goes out to Fred Hunt for all his hard work putting up the stage.

We want to express our appreciation to everyone who participated and especially to the Plain City Arts Council for the hours they put in to make the festival a success. We're all looking forward to next year.
