The Plain City Fire Department was founded
in 1982 under the direction of the Mayor and City Council.
It provides Fire protection and Emergency Medical Services to the
community. The membership includes approximately 25 individuals
that serve in various functions a paid/volunteer status as firefighters
and EMT's. The station is not manned on a regular basis,
consequently each member is contacted by pager when needed,
responding on approximately 140 fire and medical calls per year. The
department has two 1500 gpm fire trucks, 1 brush truck, and
1 medical squad unit. In a spirit of cooperation with other agencies,
the department contributes its sources to a country-wide mutual-aid
agreement.
